Massive Roseville Decorated Landscape jardiniere and pedestal with all the bells and whistles. Influenced by Frederick Hurten Rhead while at Roseville, the typical Decorated Landscape consists of squeeze bag decoration, slip painting and sgraffito decoration where small sections are excised from the clay body. This set has all of that in spades with lots of detail work and great color. Typically unmarked, the jard is signed CS on its side for the artisan who did the work. No it is not Rookwood Artist Carrie Steinle but I am sure Carrie would have been proud to do such work. Height of the set is 42 3/8 inches making it the largest standard size. There is a small factory depression on the side of the jard and a small glaze nick to a high point. The pedestal is amazingly intact with a couple of glaze nicks to some of the green grass near the base. If you have ever wanted a Decorated Landscape jardiniere and pedestal but hesitated because most are in atrocious condition, you should consider this one which is 99% original.
