Description: Peonies decorate the exterior and interior of the bowl in a varied palette of enamel colors on brick red ground. The lacquered brass form perfectly fitted to a custom stand which was more than likely factory made for the piece.


History: JINGFA was founded in 1956 in Beijing and is the largest manufacturer of enamel cloisonne in China, employing 1800 people. Although in many respects 20th century production is less labor-intensive than earlier practices, at JINGFA, cloisonne is still a handcrafted process involving several artisans and numerous steps to achieve the results of a piece such as the Blue of Jingtai Bowl. For those who appreciate the beauty of lustrous colors, uncomplicated forms, and attention-to-detail workmanship, JINGFA enamel cloisonne still has a lot to offer.
