Description
Outstanding Set of Eight French Hand-Painted Porcelain Topographical Plates, second half 19th century, with bleu marin ground borders punctuated with small landscapes and framed with tooled gilt scrollwork, each plate decorated with a chateau set into lush landscapes, each identified on the rear, most on Sevres blanks dated 1837, but probably not factory decorated, also with the Chateau de Tuileries mark and the Louis-Philippe mark, along with spurious crossed "L" marks, dia. 9-1/2".
Condition
In overall very good to excellent condition. Scattered very, very minor scrapes and rubbing to the gilt, particularly the perimeter edges. No chips, cracks or flakes noted. No evidence of scratches from utensils noted.
