AN AFRICAN TRIBAL BRONZE FEMALE FIGURE, POSSIBLY YORUBA PEOPLES, NIGERIA, 20TH CENTURY, modeled in a squatting position with knees bent and wearing a stylized hairstyle of three cylindrical radiating rows reversing to a single one on backside of head, above dotted eyebrows and strongly featured raised almond shaped eyes over a spreading nose and large slightly parted protruding lips, flanked by line incised scarification detailed cheeks and flat circular pierced ears, on a short neck with a stacked rings necklace above a cylindrical body enclosing tubular breasts within curved tubular arms ending in bracelet and open palm hands, wearing a short ringed skirt above bent kneed legs and stylized feet, on a circular cross line incised detailed base within braided raffia and cane trim on a rounded animal hide covered caned plinth. Height: 14"
