Description
A late 19th century garnet, split pearl and diamond pendant. The rose-cut diamond star, atop an oval garnet cabochon, within a split pearl marquise-shape panel, with graduated bead and fringe accent, suspended from a 15ct gold rope-twist chain. Length of pendant 6.7cms. Length of chain 45.5cms. Total weight 10.3gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Pendant converted from another piece of jewellery. An area of soft solder visible to the reverse of pendant. One part of the fringe has had a possible repair. Some small localised areas of discolouration. Split pearls with cream body colour and chalky lustre. Some split pearls replacements. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions. Chain with barrel clasp. Chain stamped 15ct. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
