JAMES H. HAZEL (CANADIAN/AMERICAN, 20TH CENTURY) LANDSCAPE PAINTING, watercolor on paper, abstract-style composition, with gallery label verso giving title as "For Rent", matted and housed under glass in a modern frame. Together with a floral work by the artist, signed lower right, housed under glass in a modern frame. Two pieces total. Second half 20th century. Landscape 9 5/8" x 13 5/8" sight, 17 1/4" x 21 1/4" OA.
Excellent visual condition (each). Frames with wear. Not examined out of frames.
Catalogue Note: Born in Canada, James H. Hazel studied interior architectural design at the Ontario College of Art, and eventually went on to serve as Vice President for Design at the Marriott Corporation. He now lives on the Northern Neck of Virginia, where he teaches and paints at his studio. A member of the Virginia Watercolor Society, Hazel is noted for his skill as a watercolor artist.
