Description
Pre-Columbian, Peru, Sican, ca. 800 to 1000 CE. A ceramic face carefully wrapped with silver sheet and highlighted with red cinnabar, depicting a visage of a deity or elite Sican lord. The visage is impressively decorated with characteristically elongated, slanted eyes and pronounced hoop-shaped ear ornaments.
