Description
French, 19th century. A pair of carved oak Louis XVI style fauteuil armchairs, each raised on four fluted legs with scrolling French toes and floral swag knees, with pierced front apron adorned with overflowing floral urn medallion at center, shaped side aprons, downswept padded arms with scroll handgrips and guilloche carved relief accenting to top and front planes, the shield form back with flowering urn crest flanked by front to back floral swags to top corners, and acanthus accent to base, seat and seat back padded and covered in ecru upholstery. Approximate overall height 38.75", width 26.75", depth 25.75", seat height 17", seat depth 21.5". Provenance: Jacqueline Adams Antiques, Atlanta, Georgia, whereby acquired by a Private Collection, Atlanta, Georgia.
