Facing bust in uniform and bicorne hat of then-president who soon after was proclaimed King Henry I and worked mightily to make Haiti a peaceful, prosperous and respected realm. Rev. 17-line tribute to Christophe’s restoration of peace, work, commerce and law; ending chaos and resuming march toward a higher destiny. A major rarity, designed and struck by Sir Edward Thomason of Birmingham, England. Forrer VI:75. Much luster, some reverse tin pest. 41.6mm, 1.7mm thick. Inspiration of the rare 1807 one centieme pattern coin. No example appeared in the Ray Byrne collection. Extremely Fine/Very Fine condition.
