Goodbear or Chief Flying Eagle, Cheyenne, spent his childhood in Oklahoma where he attended public elementary and high schools. Many of his illustrations and paintings have been reproduced in school books. His work has been described as having overtones of Futurism and a refinement of the Kiowa style. Goodbear served in the United States Army in World War II. Aside from his artistry, he has held other occupations as a dancer, singer, teacher and a professional boxer. He also worked at the School of American Research and Museum of New Mexico in Santa Fe."
