Description
English, mid 16th century, circa 1550. Carved oak wood architectural element in the form of a ceiling boss with a leaf design with four radiating leaves encircling central point surrounded by stippled ground. Unmarked. Overall measures approximately 9.75" x 8.75". Provenance: Joanna Booth, 247 Kings Road, London, England whereby acquired by the Estate of Dr. Woody and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia in March of 1993. Note: Copy of original invoice available upon request.
