Description
Continental School, 19th century. "Peacock with Flowers", embroidery and beading on silk, unsigned. Fabric embroidered to depict large central, dimensional peacock with elaborate tail, surrounded by multi-colored florals and foliage, with bullion thread and beading throughout, with two small, golden peacocks and stylized potted flower to each corner, with gold fringe lining. Framed approximately 37" x 23.5". Sight approximately 32.25" x 19". Provenance: Corona Del Mar California Estate; whereby acquired by present owner.
