Description
Flemish, 18th century. A pair of carved oak relief panels, each depicting depicting a single male figure - on a Bishop seated holding a staff crosswise over his body, the other a drunken monk holding a tankard to his upturned mouth and a tappit-hen in other hand by his side, each in a rectangular format. Approximate height 15.5" x 8.75". Provenance: From the Estate of Dr. Woody Cobbs and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia.
