Description
Gorham (American (Rhode Island), founded 1831). A set of six sterling silver tablespoons or serving spoons in the "Jac Rose" pattern, each wide handle with an etched rose motif and monogrammed "C". Underside of each handle with maker's mark used in the last quarter of the 19th century, "STERLING", date code "S" presumably for 1886, monogram "JWC" and retailer's mark "Otto Stoelker", a jeweler and watchmaker in Birmingham, Alabama. Length approximately 8.375". Total approximate weight 9.59 troy ounces. Provenance: From the Estate of Dr. Woody & Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia.
