Description
A large and beautiful Corinthian alabastron depicting two sirens, c. 625 - 600 BC, beautifully painted with nice archaic features and elegantly curled wings, rosettes in the field, triple bands below and above, vertical tongues around the neck and the rim. The edge of the rim is adorned with pellets and the bottom with concentric bands of varying width. H: 8 ¼ in (21cm). Ex Lily Holsten collection.
