A Japanese Meiji Period Gilt Lacquer Mother-of-Pearl Inlaid Fan Form Box. In the form of two overlapping fans. The top is decorated with phoenixes and flowering trees. Body is decorated with flowing water and inset mother-of-pearl leaves and flowers 2" x 5" x 3"

The gilt border of the top is rubbed and appears to have areas which have been overpainted
