China, Tang Dynasty, ca. 618 - 906 CE. Very attractive sculpture of a seated lion - acting as a guardian of the household. Large smile on his face with nicely detailed mane, wearing a large pendant on a rope around his neck. Size: 4" W x 7.125" H (10.2 cm x 18.1 cm)
