Description
China, Northern Sung (Song) / Jin Dynasty, ca. 12th to 13th century CE. Black ware of Cizhou type: Light gray stoneware with bluish-black hare's fur glaze boldly emblazoned by four splashes of russet brown on the interior, all swirling together, extending into the bowl's center. Well-cut footring. The stunning bluish-black glazed exterior with hints of russet. The glaze is starting to show a subtle iridescence that not only attests to its age and authenticity, but adds greatly to its beauty. Size: 5" W x 2.5" H (12.7 cm x 6.4 cm).
