Description
Booker T. Washington signed typed letter (6.5" x 8"), dated June 5, 1915, on Tuskegee Institute, Alabama, Booker T. Washington letterhead. It is from Booker T. Washinton, Principal, to one Mr. Carlos F. Hunt, Pawtucket, R.I., soliciting money during a fund raiser. Letter was once folded in half, one small slight soiling spot. Otherwise, a very clean, crisp letter and a nice example of Booker T. Washington's signature. A professional letter of opinion dated March 8, 2016, concluded via an on-line scan examination, that the signature is "Likely to be genuine." This accompanies the autograph. Also being sold: 1) A grouping of ten Booker T. Washington cigar box labels (9.75" x 7.75"), unused. Most fairly clean. Some soiled. 2) "The Tuskegee Institute Bulletin, Catalog Edition, 1938-1939. Clean interior, soiling and stains on outer; 3) Booker T. Washington First Day of Issue, April 5, 1956. Clean Day of Issue side, some slight discoloration on reverse of envelope.
