Description
Housed in the original wooden crate, this early horse racing game includes the parts for a simulated horse race with wood horses with riders, a canvas track, flags, and so forth. Crate is specifically designed to hold each piece of the game securely. Whether the game is 100% complete is not known. Includes instructions for players and for unloading the game pieces. Copy of consignor paperwork states that this early 1930s illegal horse racing gambling game was all hand-crafted with an original pine traveling case and was used by the executive officers of the American Legion. It also details the game play and pieces included with the game, such as horses with mounted jockeys, race track, directions, Bookmaker's Tally File, Rules & Suggestions for the Running of the Races, Bookmaker's Window Dressings, original tracings and design templates to make the ponies (traced from an English painting), dice, dice shaker, money trays & ticket tray, hurdles, tickets, posts, flags, etc. Condition (Good - Very Good). Size Crate: 12" x 8-1/4" x 51"
