227 CHADWICK JAMES: (1891-1974) English Physicist, Nobel Prize winner for Physics, 1935, in recognition of his discovery of the neutron. Chadwick was head of the British team who worked on the Manhattan Project during World War II. A.L.S., J. Chadwick, one page, 4to, Denbigh, 3rd November 1962, to an unknown recipient. Chadwick refers to his correspondent's letter forwarded to him from Cambridge, and states in part 'Most of my papers are still in cases, as they were packed for removal from Cambridge. Perhaps I my find something which may meet your request when I sort out my papers during the course of the next few months.' VG £200-300
