Description
Navajo Squash Blossom necklace composed of cast silver Naja, Walking Liberty silver half dollars, and Mercury and Roosevelt silver dimes. The coins date to the 1940's. FROM THE ESTATE OF JOHN KOEHLER. Decades ago, Mr. Koehler purchased an entire trading post, including inventory. The inventory - Anasazi and Pueblo pottery, baskets, beadwork and other Native American collectables, along with hundreds of Navajo concho belts and squash blossom necklaces apparently made by a single local silversmith - became his collection. The trading post had been active during the 1950's and 1960's, and the bulk of the estate pieces - including the Navajo silver items - date to that period. Dimensions: 23 in. long; Naja is 2.75 in. high x 2.25 in. wide.
