American Rococo Revival Rosewood Bowfront Marble Top Sideboard, late 19th c., the serpentine canted corner figured white marble above a bowed pierced decorated cupboard door, flanked by two like concave cupboard doors and scrolled canted stiles on a plinth base, H.- 38 in., W.- 62 1/2 in., D.- 20 in.

As found. The stiles appear to very likely be a mahogany secondary wood. The veneer appears to have heavy losses and areas of damage near the doors, sides, base, etc. The marble top has various yellowish colored stains throughout, white residue and soil within the crevices. There are losses to the applied molding noted mainly at door fronts. The central door is not attached and the central panel is not affixed. Apparent fretwork repairs are noted. The base appears with notable wear and veneer losses at corners. A good example with charm.
