Description
A Baldwin builder's plate from Genesse & Wyoming #9. A 2-6-0 wheel arrangement built in July of 1910. This Baldwin Builder's plate has a 12 1/4" diameter. It has a curve to fit on a boiler. This locomotive is on display in Tennessee as Smokey Mountain #206. There are photographs of this locomotive derelict in the woods from 1960 that show her without her headlight, number plate, bell and builder's plate (on the Fireman side). Clearly this plate was repainted and some silver primer leaked onto the back side. It also has a stamp mark on the reverse that looks like: 8300 and D662 with the "D" over the last "0".
