Skeletonised dial with subsidiary smoky sapphire dial showing hours and minutes with baton hour markers, Arabic numeral twelve and six, inner seconds track, altitude scale between nine and one, barometric pressure forecasting dial to two, power reserve indicator to four with signature engraved compass rose detailing, two air pressure anerods to six. Fitted to a signed brown alligator strap with 18ct rose gold deployant clasp. 44mm. Box and papers.In the era of the smart watch we have become used to the idea of a watch providing all manner of additional information. Producing such information as barometric pressure for weather forecasting and altitude by purely mechanical means, to be read from the wrist, by purely mechanical means is a unique an astonishing achievement. The Breva Genie 01 uses a specially designed anerod capsule made from memory metal to drive the racks and gears of the pressure displays. Watches are usually designed to exclude air from inside the case but the Breva requires it, protecting the movement through the use of an osmotic Teflon filter. Produced as a limited edition of 55 pieces, this is a watch like no other.
