A Roman mosaic panel depicting two ducks, probably 2nd/3rd century A.D., the birds shown in greens and reds within a square reserve, the sides of the broad border formed of imbricated laurel leaves, running to crosses at the corners, later reset onto a grey stone backing, the mosaic 79cm square, the overall measurements, 83cm square Provenance: Previously sold by Phillips Zurich, Fine Furniture, Clocks, Tapestries, Carpets and Works of Art, at the Casino Zurichhorn, 13th October 1997, lot 271Lot 264 - Please note: six of the black tessellae from a leaf edging at one side of the mosaic have become detached. Dreweatts will have these restored back into place for the successful buyer of this lot
