Description
Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "WHITES' BINGHAMTON", New York State origin, circa 1860, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a distinctive slip-trailed design of two poppy flowers emanating from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: David Musser Collection. Some spots of fry to cobalt. A 1 1/4" reglued flake on underside, not visible on interior. A few spots of old green and white paint to left side.
