Condition:The lithograph has been inspected framed. It is in overall very good condition and mounted to a support on the reverse. Apart from occasional tiny chips the frame is in good condition, too. The image measures 52 x 39.2 cm, the sheet 65.5 x 49.5 cm. The framed dimensions are 71 x 56 cm.


Marino Marini (1901-1980)Marini studied from 1917 onwards at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. In 1928, he travelled to Paris, where he spent consistently the following years. There, he met the artists Giorgio de Chirico, Wassily Kandinsky and Aristide Maillol. Later, he met Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, the two founders of the Avant-garde. A popular topic of the Italian artist is the connection between horses and humans. Marini's most famous sculpture is the bronze ‘L'angelo della citta’ [The angel of the city] in front of the entrance of the Palazzo Venier dei Leoni in Venice, where now the Peggy Guggenheim Collection is located.
