Giulio Radi was the director of the glass manufactory A.VE.M from 1939 to 1952. During this period, he developed a technique called ‘Reazione policroma’ in Italian where he experimented with the expansion of silver and gold foil as well as several layers of thick glass. Aldo Nason took up the technique in the 1960s in his series ‘Yokohama’.
