Condition: The jardinière is overall in good condition, showing major losses of the gilding and minor scratch marks. The dimensions are approximately 9 x 49 x 23.5 cm, and the total weight is about 4.5 kg.

Christofle (est. 1830)

The company Christofle was founded in 1830 by the jeweler Charles Christofle (1805-1863). The brand mark was officially registered in 1853. In the 19th century Christofle became the purveyor to the House of Orléans and later to Napoleon III and Sultan Abdülaziz (1830-1876). The company is known to this day for their silverware such as cutlery, services, picture frames, crystal vases, glassware, porcelain tableware and silver jewelery. (cko)
