Pair of early 19th C. Japanese Imari porcelain 18 1/2" (h) x 13 3/8" (l) x 9" (w) censors, decorated in under glaze blue & over glaze iron red & gold enamels, bulbous bodies with high domed lids on tripod stands, bodies & lids pierced, carved & painted to depict crashing waves & swirling clouds, bodies with opposing sculpted three clawed dragon handles, another three clawed dragon flying in & out of clouds on lids & serving as finials, with pearl in their mouths, bases covered with fans & flowers.[151] CONDITION: Restoration on both bases. Dragons have chips, restoration & or loss. Bodies have wear.
