Description
GERMAN PORCELAIN DATED COMMEMORATIVE CUP AND SAUCER SETS, LOT OF FOUR, comprising a pair of cups encrusted with leaves and grape clusters, and matching saucers, each set with a different inscription commemorating the beginning of the Second Boer War, and the birthday of Wilhlemine Kamphausen in 1899; both cups printed and painted with domestic and war scenes, and with a variety of sentimental inscriptions, one saucer with date the war began, and the other printed and painted with floral sprays, and an offering of friendship. Unmarked. Dated 1899. The cups 3 3/8" H, the saucers 6 1/2" D.
