Nichols, William Allyn (American, 1945-). "Japanese Foot Bridge, Early Morning." Oil on canvas painting. Signed on back WM Nichols 91c. In good condition. Waxlander Gallery label on reverse with artist’s name. Measures 51 " x 77 ". Frame measures 54” x 79”. Included with the painting is a signed by William Nichols copy of the 2012 exhibition catalog of William Nichols “Recent Landscape Paintings” at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio.br>
From Askart: A painter and educator, William Allyn Nichols became a painter of close up views of botanical plants in landscape. From 1970, he was a Professor of Art at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. Nichols studied at the Art Institute of Chicago*, earning a BFA in painting and drawing in 1966. In 1968, he earned an MFA degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana. He also studied at the Slade School of Art* in London and had a Fulbright Grant from 1968 to 1969.
