[BYRON LORD]: (1788-1824) British Poet, a leading figure in the Romantic Movement. GUICCIOLI TERESA (1800-1873) Contessa Guiccioli. Italian Mistress of Lord Byron, author of Lord Byron's Life in Italy. A.L.S., T Guiccioli, three pages, 8vo, Paris, 29th October 1837, to Baron Alibert, in French. Guiccioli informs her correspondent that Justine is very ill and continues 'the symptoms of her illness appear to me to be very serious, and to me (so ignorant of your science) inexplicable altogether', further adding 'Would you be so very kind, my dear Baron, as to come to me to enlighten me a little and to tell me what I could do? She is in bed because her weakness is such that she cannot do anything'. With integral address leaf. A few light spots of foxing, a small area of paper loss to the upper right corner of the final page and a neat split at the base of the central fold, not affecting the text or signature. About VG
