Description
Attributed to George Grainger & Co. of Worcester {England, 1839 - 1902 }, second half 19th century. A hand painted porcelain dessert service of superb quality comprising ten dessert plates, one tall tazza/compote, and four low tazzas/compotes, each piece painted with a different botanical subject depicting colorful trumpeting flowers and vinery the whole reserved within a band of cobalt, gilt and jeweled beaded border. Each piece bear the printed Retailer's Mark of James Green & Nephew of Queen Victoria St., London. The dessert plates also have pattern number 2513 painted in red. Approximate diameter of plates 9.25". Approximate height of tall tazza 4.5", diameter 9.25". Approximate height of low tazzas 2.5", diameter 9.25".
