Description
A Wucai Covered Jar, 17th Century.
This white ground jar has blue underglaze with red, green, black and blue enamel. Red and black are used to outline the enamel. The enamel and underglaze are floral in design and there are two green chilong on the vase. The jar is approximately 9 3/8 inches in height. Condition: It is in overall good condition with a chip inside the lid on the inner rim where it connects the jar. The rim of the jar is a bit rough to the touch. There are two small chips on the rim of the lid.
Provenance: From a Washington DC estate, formerly in the collection of Mr. Marcel Baudez who was the French Consul General in Shanghai from November 1938 until May 1940 and the Fall of France to Nazi Germany.

Condition
It is in overall good condition with a chip inside the lid on the inner rim where it connects the jar. The rim of the jar is a bit rough to the touch. There are two small chips on the rim of the lid.
