Seven White Jade Toggles, 17th - 19th Century.
1. Jade Plaque Carved with Landscape Scene, 17th Century. This white jade plaque has a hole drilled at the top for hanging from a string or chain. One side is carved with a landscape and the other with characters. The bottom has carved character marks as well. It is approximately 1 5/8 inches in height and 1 1/4 inches in width.
2. A Small White Jade Toggle, 19th Century. This small white jade toggle is carved into a large lingzhi mushroom and smaller ones on the opposite side. It is approximately 7/8 of an inch in height and 1 1/4 inches in width.
3. A Jade Toggle Carved with an Eagle, 17th Century. This jade toggle is hollow in the center so that it is in the shape of a tube. It is carved to depict an eagle and a bear, representing heroism. These animals are depicted within a landscape. It is approximately 2 1/8 inches in height and 7/8 of an inch in diameter.
4. A Jade Carved Mushroom-Shaped Pendant, 19th Century. This white jade is carved into the shape of a mushroom with a flower carved into the sides of it. There is a drilled hole through the top and bottom of the mushroom for hanging from a string. It is approximately 1 1/2 inches in height and 2 inches in width.
5. Carved White Jade Toggle with Brown Skin, 19th Century. This white jade toggle is carved in the shape of a fruit. It is approximately 2 1/4 inches in height and 1 1/2 inches in width.
6. White Jade Toggle Carved with Chilong, 18th - 19th Century. This white jade toggle is carved with two chilong on either side. It is approximately 1 1/8 inches in height and 2 1/16 inches in width.
7. A White Jade Carved Lotus with Brown Skin, 19th Century. This white jade stone is carved into a lotus with a fish. It is approximately 1 7/8 inches in height and 3/4 of an inch in width. Condition: They are all in good condition. The eagle toggle does show signs of age. The last toggle has a slight chip on the edge of the lotus.
Provenance: From a New England estate.
