A GEORGE III STYLE WALNUT AND MARQUETRY BREAKFRONT SECRETARY BOOKCASE, FIRST HALF 20TH CENTURY, crowned by a triangular open pediment centering an inlaid shell patera, over a case fitted with tracery segmented glazed double doors opening to reveal three narrow shelves, two mounted with a series of hooks, the boldly crossbanded lower section fitted with four graduating long drawers accented by keyhole escutcheons and later circular mounts with ring pulls centering a frontal facing lion plate medallion, the top fall front drawer further ornamented by an inlaid quarter circle rocaille at each corner, opening to reveal a gilt tooled leather writing surface below a gallery of small tray drawers and pigeonholes, the whole heightened on splayed bracket feet.
