Description
A LARGE VICTORIAN CAST-IRON FOUR SEAT GARDEN BENCH, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, with a reticulated four molded ovals backrest centering country youths at various pursuits, alternating blossoming iris foliage, within scrolling strapwork details and surmounted by stylized floral crestrails, flanked by pierced coiling arms with bearded masks enclosing a plank seat, raised on sabre form scrolling legs joined by rectangular stretchers centering disc details. Height: 35 1/2" Width: 68 1/4" Depth: 26"
Condition
Very heavy, with multi layers of old flaking paint, scattered spots of surface rust, plank boards seating in similar condition with areas of wood rot - needs replacing.
