Description
TWO LATE GEORGE III TEA CADDIES, CIRCA 1800, comprising one of rectangular form and inlaid with flame mahogany on a hinged lid, opening to a two compartment interior with removable lids, raised on gilt brass talon and sphere cast feet, height: 6", width: 8 1/4", depth: 5 1/4"; a marquetry inlaid walnut caddy, of rectangular block form and hinged lid centering a stylized leafy wreath enclosing a bronze pull, within various woods detailed block and rope twist parquetry trim, above similarly trimmed sides and opening to an interior with remnants of zinc paper lining, height: 5", width: 5", depth: 4 3/8".
Condition
Good condition, each has minor surface marks and small scratches from use, age cracks, some corner chips, and buildup. Lid of mahogany caddy is slightly warped.
