Description
A PAIR OF VICTORIAN STYLE GILT BRASS TWO-LIGHT WALL SCONCES, AND A FEDERAL STYLE POLISHED BRASS AND GLASS LANTERN, 20TH CENTURY, the pair of diminutive wall sconces with blossoming foliate cast back plates issuing serpentine branches and ending in flower petal detailed bowl form bobèches, fitted for electricity, height: 12 1/4", width: 8 3/8", depth: 3 1/2"; together with a Federal style polished and lacquered brass three-light hall lantern with rectangular concave glass panel sides within conforming flat frame borders and stylized acorn finials, surmounted by a cage form corona suspending a simple rod stem ending in a tapering bowl base, enclosing vasiform nozzles on flower petal style circular bobèches, fitted for electricity, fitted for electricity, height: 19", diameter: 9 1/2".
Condition
All in very good condition, and the sconces have later gilt painted surfaces and surface build up on faux candlestick sleeves (one chipped). The lantern has some minor spotting of lacquered brass surface and lacking one panel. Simpson Galleries strongly encourages in-person inspection of items by the bidder.
