Description
DESCRIPTION: Three carved wooden souvenir canes. Includes: 1) Round cane with a knob handle, carved linear and circular designs, a leather cord with horn end, and an attached paper label noting that the cane was purchased by Mrs. J.K. Spotts in Constantinople in Spring, 1925 and presented to W.R.D. 9-29-25. 35-3/4". 2) Hard wood carved cane with a circular grip, carved diamond design and tablet with diagonal scoring, and an attached paper noting that it was obtained by Mrs. E.J. Hatfield from Zulus. 28-1/4". 3) Painted and heavily carved cane with an animal motif, especially snakes, birds, an armed warrior in headdress, and marked Mexico. 36-3/8". MEASUREMENTS: See Description. CONDITION: Normal wear and losses to canes with Mexican cane having significant wear and cracking to handle.
