DESCRIPTION: Leather pig footstool attributed to Dimitri Omersa and Abercrombie and Fitch. Unmarked. A political refugee and immigrant to England in the 1950s, Omersa worked for Liberty's of London making leather animorphic footstools out of the leftover leather scraps. He entered a donkey in the Californian State Fair and won a Gold medal. The animals were stocked by Abercrombie and Fitch, purveyor to the fantasies of the rich and famous, during the 1960’s – 80’s and have developed a significant following in the USA. MEASUREMENTS: CONDITION: Apparent wear to some areas consistent with handling and use. Apparent damage and attempted repair to tail. 10" long shallow tear to crest of pig's back. Minor streak of white paint to back right leg. Three minor punctures to left side. Minor looseness to leather eyes.
