A large Chinese carved Zitan wood table casket or jewel box, c.1900. The lid with deeply carved dragon and stylized cloud motifs, the four sides depicting urns of flowers, bats and Chinese calligraphy symbols, Greek key fret pattern along the borders. Brass side handles and brass escutcheon and lock. The interior velvet lined and with a lidded compartment. Overall measurement 13.25" wide, 9" deep, 7.5" high.
