French faience figural decanter in the form of a cow, late 19th century, executed in the form of a standing cow with a barrel resting on its back, having three metal hooks on either side to hang cups, the barrel having a lid and a spigot and decorated with figures of French peasants, the cow having all over floral spays on a cream ground with mustard yellow outlines and cobalt accents, rising on a green sponged rectangular base, marked with 'Auvergne' on either side of the barrel, 11"h x 5.5"w x 10"d. Condition: Overall good. Two areas of 1/4" each of glaze loss around one of the hooks on the side, two very tiny chips to the nose of the cow, no other cracks, losses, or apparent restorations.
