Burton is an American guitarist known for playing with Rick Nelson, Elvis Presley, John Denver, Emmylou Harris, and Merle Haggard as well as a session guitarist for dozens of other notable musicians. Burton became a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, and he also was recognized by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame and the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum.

In black ink Burton inscribed this guitar "To Mannys," obviously referring to legendary New York City music store, Manny's Music.
