Description: Baton is made of sterling silver and is surmounted at top with the Royal Coat of Arms for Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh. In 1866, Guildhall presented him with the "Freedom of the City of London".
History: The granting of the Honorary Freedom, (or Freedom Honoris Causa) of the City of London is extremely rare and only generally awarded today to Royalty, Heads of State or to figures of genuine global standing.
