Description
Description: Pair of Meissen candlesticks, one white with apple green, the other white with cobalt blue. Both are trimmed with gold around the top and on the base. The balustrades are in a twist shape and the overall pattern is a hobnail design.
History: Meissen porcelain or Meissen china is the first European hard-paste porcelain that was developed in 1708 by Ehrenfried Walther von Tschirnhaus. After his death that October, Johann Friedrich Böttger, continued his work.

Heavy wear to the gold decoration, due to age and use. Green candlestick has a flake on the balustrade, and on the bottom of the base, the blue has a chip on the rim of the base.
