The German toy manufacturer Schuco is known amongst other distinctions for its fine production of its mechanical and clockwork toys. This particular Schuco bear is the company's beloved small sized somersaulting bear from the 1950's. The bear is 14 cm, fully jointed, and made from blonde mohair that has been affixed and sewn to his metal body. He has very long arms with felt hand paw pads; his feet are padless. His face is detailed with brown and black glass pupil eyes and a simple black hand embroidered nose and mouth. His tumbling movement, which is working, is activated by winding him up with his original key in his side. Condition: As described. In very good condition overall. Size 5" T.
