Box Inscriptions and Label Inscriptions by: Watanabe Kaseki(1852-1930): The second son of Kazan's son, Watanabe Shoka. Kaseki inherited the Watanabe family. Known for his landscapes and human subjects. Kaseki was famous for publishing, " Kazan Gadan" an anthology of Kazan's works.
Yamashita Seigai (1858-1942) Trained under Watanabe Shoka, Seigai studied the works of Tsubaki Chinzan, Watanabe Kazan, and the Chinese masters. In 1887, Seigai painted several cedar door panels for the Imperial palace. Later in life, Seigai was famous for conducting authentications and research on Watanabe Kazan.Dimensions: Scroll 215cm x 70cm (with ends): 82cm or 84.65 in x 27.5in (32.3in) Painting: 138cm x 54.5cm or 54.33in x 21.5 in.

Condition
Painting has folds and wrinkles from long term display. Due to the size of the roller and the ends, the bottom section of mounting has tears and damages due to the weight.
