Box Inscriptions and Label Inscriptions by: Watanabe Kaseki(1852-1930): The second son of Kazan's son, Watanabe Shoka. Kaseki inherited the Watanabe family. Known for his landscapes and human subjects. Kaseki was famous for publishing, " Kazan Gadan" an anthology of Kazan's works.
Yamashita Seigai (1858-1942) Trained under Watanabe Shoka, Seigai studied the works of Tsubaki Chinzan, Watanabe Kazan, and the Chinese masters. In 1887, Seigai painted several cedar door panels for the Imperial palace.
